The Naval Academy Band’s Crabtowne Stompers will be performing at William A. Humbert Amphitheater in Bel Air, MD on Sunday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m. The United States Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest,” has been providing music for the Brigade of Midshipmen and surrounding community since 1852. Located at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, this premier military band offers fifteen world-class ensembles which perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary. Rooted in the original New Orleans jazz music of the early 1900's, the Crabtowne Stompers fuses its music with modern funk and jazz elements. The creative improvisational and compositional techniques of its members make the Crabtowne Stompers' music truly innovative and unique. Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required. The William A. Humbert Amphitheater is located in Shamrock Park at Hickory and Lee Streets in Bel Air.
